Summer

During the bathing period, from May to September, the water temperature of the lake ranges between 20 and 24 degrees; perfect conditions for spending your holiday in the water!

Perfect conditions for bathers and water sport fans

The southerly wind, the "Breva" provides conditions that attract multitudes of windsurfers, kite surfers, and passionate sailing enthusiasts.
If you like more horsepower, you'll be delighted to learn that motorboats with up to 40 PS can be driven on Lake Como without a licence; naturally, they are available to rent all around the shores of the lake.
Canoeists and rowers will see a more romantic side of the lake; as you move over the water under the power of your own oars instead of an engine, you are rewarded with stunning views, from parks and villas to waterfalls and sandy beaches that can only be reached by water.
The gently sloping beaches and the picturesque bays on the Olgiasca peninsula are an ideal location for swimming and sunbathing.
In addition, there is a bathing beach located to the south of Piazza Garibaldi, with large sunbathing and playing areas, as well as an associated restaurant where you can state your hunger after spending all day splashing around.

Activities for young and old

No one should be surprised to learn that Italy is a very child-friendly place. That can also be seen in beautiful Colico. Children are welcome, not just restaurants or when visiting festivals. Colico offers playgrounds, child-friendly beaches and pushchair-friendly pathways to ensure the perfect holiday for you and your family.

Events in Colico

A variety of different festivals and events take place in Colico all year round. For the runners who take part in the marathon in April, to the music fans listening to the sounds of different overtures and symphonies in in early June, the “Festival Musica sull'acqua” at the Abbazzia di Piona, or the wine lovers at the “Colico in Cantina” enjoying a delicious glass in mid-June, it’s certain that Colico is anything but boring!

Discover the many sights

Visit one of the many churches or the twelve historic villas; while a trip to the fortress, the Forte di Fuentes, which was almost completely destroyed by Napoleon, or the intact fortress, Forte Montecchio Lusardi with its four rotating cannons, is very rewarding. You can easily incorporate a visit to these sights into a scenic hike, because regardless of whether you walk along the shores of the lake, along the promenade, through the woods or on Monte Legnone, you won’t miss out on the many historic buildings and locations.
